In October we took 33 pupils to the Apple Store in Trinity Leeds for an Apple run field trip. The field trips give pupils the opportunity to work on an existing project or start an entirely new one using their iPads, with expert help from the team at Apple. 7J were lucky participants for our first venture down to the store, where they completed a project for Geography. The project involved taking photos and videos on the journey down and then putting them together using iMovie on their iPads to show points of interest along the way.
After completing their individual project on the iPads, students were then split into teams to work cooperatively collating their footage into one large project. Students used iMacs to edit before presenting the completed movies to everyone else. The trip provided our students with skills they will be able to take forward with them at Abbey Grange to improve their level of expertise with the iPads. Every student who went was a credit to the Academy, and we are already looking forward to our next trip. More details can be found in blogs by Mr Whieldon and Mr Banks.
"I enjoyed going to the Apple Store because everybody who worked there were very enthusiastic and they made the trip as fun as possible."
